Nepal : 258 dark days

Jitman Basnet, human rights defender and journalist from Nepal had been arrested by the army in 2004, and was held for almost nine months in a Kathmandu army barrack, where he was tortured. After having been released, he wrote a book, 258 Dark Days, which is an account of his own experiences and also of the accounts he heard from other detainees. Since the book was published, he has been threatened and forced to exile. A Protection International video (www.protectionline.org)
